THE BEXHILL TAPESTRY
Your memories. Your stories. Our Community.
Living Communities CIC presents a two-day intergenerational arts project kindly supported by Age Friendly Rother. The Bexhill Tapestry project invites local residents of all ages to share memories and stories of Bexhill through creative activities including drawing, painting, collage, and sewing, contributing to a large community tapestry. The initiative aims to encourage skills sharing, reduce loneliness, build friendships, and strengthen understanding between generations. The completed artwork will be displayed publicly at The Living Room the creative hub of Living Communities.
About Living Communities
Living Communities CIC is a not-for-profit creative organisation based in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, and Tooting, South London. Our team of professional artists, creatives and community practitioners design and deliver workshops, creative programmes and community projects that bring people together.
We focus particularly on communities who are underserved, underrepresented or face barriers to accessing opportunities. Through creativity, we create spaces for people to connect, learn new skills, build confidence, share experiences and have their voices heard.
We believe creativity can change how people feel about themselves, each other and their communities. Our work supports more connected, inclusive communities where everyone feels valued, represented and welcome.
