Create On are flexible sessions to encourage children who are home educated to explore their creative side. These sessions include all materials and are participant lead, a different theme/activity is introduced each week, but all participants are encouraged to go at their own pace and create an environment that makes them feel the most comfortable to create in.
We treat everyone as professional artists, and by that.. we mean that we want to develop each child’s natural ability and interests in the art world. So if someone loves drawing comic characters or making masks we’ll develop that with them rather than making them draw a pepper or a flower, although that’s great too!
It’s all about developing their skills, confidence building and an introduction into the world of creative arts and something they could make a career from in the future.
Being part of the creative hub of Bexhill we have in walking distance Flatland Projects and the De La Warr Pavillion, both spaces are really supportive of our home educated children and there will be opportunities throughout the year to go and visit their exhibitions with relaxed viewings and the De La Warr will also show us around at a pace which is comfortable for all.
